Police Kill Escaped Tiger

BELFAST, Northern Ireland -- Police killed a tiger which escaped from its cage at Bellevue Zoo on Sunday and attacked one of its keepers. "The zoo keeper is presently in hospital being treated for injuries to both legs and hand," said the Royal Ulster Constabulary, the province's police force. The tiger escaped from its cage at about 11 a.m. (1100 GMT) and was roaming the grounds at the zoo.
The unidentified keeper joined police in trying to coax the tiger back into its cage. (AP)
