TEHRAN – Iran’s tourism ministry, in close collaboration with the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, will be hosting an international conference on museum affairs.

According to a local official, the event is intended to help strengthen the research role of museum institutions, disseminate the latest research results and findings, and share technical and promotional experiences in the field of museums and museum management.

“Examining the status of museums and improving their qualitative levels through practical solutions based on scientific and up-to-date methods are among the objectives of this international conference,” the official said.

“It also aims to elevate the level of knowledge and awareness among researchers and specialists in the museum domain, with a special emphasis on museums and related issues.”

The conference’s inauguration is scheduled for April 24 to be held in the ancient city of Ardabil, northwestern Iranian, CHTN reported.

So far, articles from countries such as England and Hungary, as well as 12 provinces of the country, have been submitted to the conference secretariat. The deadline for submitting articles will continue until April 13.

Iran, with its millennia-old history and diverse cultural tapestry, is home to many museums that serve as guardians of the nation’s rich heritage.
