KSC exports 1.4m tons of products in a year

TEHRAN – Iran’s Khuzestan Steel Company (KSC) exported over 1.4 million tons of products to more than 10 different countries in the previous Iranian calendar year (ended on March 19), an official with the company announced.

According to Reza Vakili, the deputy head of the company for sales and marketing, Khuzestan Steel Company has been exporting its products to over 28 countries across the world despite the sanctions.

The official noted that the company is targeting 1.5 million tons of exports in the current Iranian calendar year.

“The priority of Khuzestan Steel Company is to meet domestic needs, but our export plan for this year is 1.5 million tons,” Vakili said in a press conference on the sidelines of the Iran Expo 2024.

While introducing the export opportunities of this company, he said: “Last year, Khuzestan Steel accounted for three percent of the country's total non-oil exports by exporting to 28 countries.”

“We are also eyeing the North African market in our development plan and last year exports to this region increased significantly,” he added.

KSC is an Iranian steel manufacturing company located in the major city of Ahvaz. It is currently the second-largest producer of raw steel in Iran, following Isfahan Mobarakeh Steel Company.

The company's factory, spanning 8.3 square kilometers, is situated near Ahvaz (10 kilometers on the Ahvaz–Imam Khomeini Port road), and its headquarters are also located in Ahvaz.

Iran exported more than 27 million tons of steel products worth $7.0 billion in the previous Iranian calendar year, according to the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).

As reported, the exports of the mentioned products increased by 20 percent in terms of value and 68 percent in terms of weight compared to last year’s corresponding period.
