SYDNEY Inge de Bruijn broke her own world record for the women's 100 meters freestyle in the Olympic semifinals on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old Dutchwoman, who also broke her own world record in winning the 100 meters butterfly on Sunday, was 0.06 seconds inside world record schedule at the turn in 25.81 seconds and forged away to touch in 53.77.
De Bruijn set the old mark of 53.80 in Sheffield, England, on May 28 this year.
