Over 103,000 tons of essential goods cleared in first 4 days of new year
TEHRAN- The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration announced in a statement: The import and clearance of essential and necessary goods at customs across the country continues daily, even during the Nowruz holidays, and customs remains open. As such, 103,000 tons of essential goods were cleared in the first four days of the new Iranian calendar year (March 20-24).
According to IRNA, Customs Statement No. 28 stated: During the Nowruz holiday and the first four days of the year 1405, the import and clearance formalities for over 103,000 tons of essential and necessary goods, which are directly related to the livelihood and sustenance of the people, were carried out at customs across the country, ensuring the uninterrupted supply of these goods.
According to this statement, during the Nowruz holidays, the export and transit processes are also ongoing with round-the-clock efforts by customs staff to ensure the smooth flow of foreign trade.
Additionally, based on a decision by Foroud Asgari, the head of Iran's Customs Administration, during the Passive Defense Committee meeting, given the country's special circumstances during the Nowruz holidays, deputies and general directors of the customs headquarters are acting as representatives of the head of customs, with field presence at major and key customs offices across the country to oversee the provision of services and the clearance of essential and necessary goods.
