Cyprus Government Spokesman: Cypriot-Iranian Relations Very Good

ATHENS Cyprus government spokesman Michalis Papapetrou Monday in statements made to IRNA described ties between Cyprus and the Islamic Republic of Iran as very good''.
Papapetrou, currently visiting Athens with President Glafcos Clerides, told IRNA that the Spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Hamid Reza Assefi is to visit Nicosia today for talks with him.
I am looking forward to meeting him,'' he added.
Earlier, speaking at a press conference, Papapetrou expressed Cyprus's deep concern over a resolution reportedly to be issued by the OIC Summit in Doha that supports a confederation solution to the Cyprus problem.
We are very concerned about the resolution of the OIC Summit,'' he said.
Papapetrou said Cyprus has also lodged a protest with the Qatari government for refusing to issue a visa to a Greek Cypriot official to attend the OIC Summit as observer.
