TEHRAN Muslims in Australia are increasing in number, said a report here yesterday.
Muslims are living in different Australian districts and are engaged in various occupations in the fields of education, trade and industries.
According to a report carried by IRNA from Sydney, Muslims have established Islamic schools in the Australian port of Sydney and other cities where they advocate Islam. In the said Islamic schools the students are to study Qoran and Islamic sciences besides their ordinary textbooks.
As the report said, the number of volunteers to register in the schools is growing day by day and the schools are not capable of meeting the needs despite all efforts. The report added that some new Islamic schools are being constructed in order to meet the requirements.
Some 30,000 Muslim students are currently studying in Sydney's Islamic schools, which are being strongly supported by Islamic countries, Saudi Arabia in particular.
Besides schools, Muslims have established centers with gyms and recreational halls for the Muslims and believe that the centers can help guarding Islamic culture and values.
The center also collects donations for Afghan and Iraqi refugees and constructs residential buildings for them.
Another Islamic act, Voice of Islam' radio is broadcast every day for Muslims with Qoran recitation programs and Islam-related Q&A.
