TEHRAN -- A member of the Office for Consolidation of Unity (OCU) Ali Afshari withdrew his recent statement on the serial murder case yesterday.

Afshari had said last Saturday that the serial murder trial will not be fair unless an international observer is present at the hearings.

He received criticism afterwards from different political personalities, including the reformist MP Ali Shakouri-Rad.

However, talking to the Persian weekly Tehran-e Emrouz in an interview he said he regretted his remark.
