A member of the Islamic Iran Participation Party, Abbas Abdi, said that under current circumstances, the presence of Mr. Khatami in the forthcoming elections is neither possible nor desirable.
"This doesn't mean holding the elections without him, but that we should provide the ground for his presence," Abdi elaborated.
He said by breaking promises, one cannot attain stability, adding that if the opponents of reform did not accept Mr. Khatami's policies, they should have rejected his competency at the very beginning.
