TEHRAN The Iranian ambassador to Bamako and political advisor to the Malian president here on Saturday examined avenues for expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries. Praising the initiative of "dialogue among civilizations," Abdollah Djob said that from the standpoint of Mali the proposal is highly important and would be effective in consolidating international relations and maintaining world peace and stability. He also appreciated the sincere services of a medical clinic set up by the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bamako to treat patients in that African country. Djob said that the praises heaped by Malian people on the medical clinic is an indication of their satisfaction in the services it renders. The Iranian Ambassador Gholam-Ali Fahimi Davatgar further underlined the significance of a recent meeting held between the presidents of the two countries within the framework of the Doha summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). He voiced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to cooperate in expanding bilateral relations with Mali in the political, economic and cultural fields. (IRNA)
