Iran Records Fourth Highest Current Account Surplus

LONDON Iran recorded the fourth highest current account surplus with the rest of the world relative to its national income last year, according to figures compiled in the latest issue of the economist magazine.
The highest surplus, equivalent to 36 percent of its GDP, was reported by Kuwait, followed by around 24 percent by Singapore, which was just ahead of Qatar.
Iran's rate of some 18 percent was ahead of Russia in fifth place, followed by Algeria, the UAE, Oman, Nigeria, Venezuela, Gabon, Norway and Libya in the list 117 countries.
