Karachi People Protest Use of Women in Ads

TEHRAN In a rally staged by Jama'at-e Eslami Pakistan in the city of Karachi on Thursday, hundreds of people protested the use of women in commercial ads.

According to an AFP report, Atieh Nesar, the head of the Women's Branch of Jama'at-e Eslami Pakistan, said in Karachi that showing women in printed and electronic advertisements is an obscene act which should be prohibited.

She emphasized that the rally is part of a nationwide protest against the exploitation of women under the name of liberalism or women's rights.

She added that another rally will be held in the future.
