MP: Path to Reforms Has Never Been Smooth

TEHRAN MP Mohammad Naeimipour said here Sunday that path to reforms has never been smooth and neither will it be so following the June 8 presidential elections.
Naeimipour told reporters that his colleagues at the Majlis who are also members of the Islamic Iran Participation Party, believe that obstacles to reforms will not be overcome even if President Mohammad Khatami runs for a second term in office.
He stressed the importance of President Khatami's nomination for the next presidential elections and said that the president's refusal to seek second term in office would mean absence of suitable ground for presence of similar candidates (nominated by the 2nd Khordad Front of pro-reforms groupings) on the election scene.
