ROME Italy's military was summoned to fly a woman weighing 315 kilos -- nearly 700 pounds, or 50 stone -- to hospital for special treatment of a rare eating disorder, DPA quoted media reports as saying Saturday. The fire brigade first went into action to heave the 46-year-old mother of four out of her home in Naples, using a specially- constructed chair and lifting gear. She was then flown to a clinic in Padua aboard a military transport plane with the sort of entrance and interior space no conventional airliner could offer. The Padua Clinic had already prepared a super-wide, reinforced bed for the woman, who had weighed only 75 kilos until the birth of her fourth child, after which she gained weight uncontrollably.
