CARDIFF, Wales British Prime Minister Tony Blair was urged on Saturday by the country's leading pro-European organization to begin a major national debate as soon as possible on membership of the euro, AFP reported.
"Tony Blair's unprecedented second landslide, after a campaign in which no one could doubt the main parties' positions on Europe, gives the government precisely the authority it needs to lead a great national debate about Britain's future in Europe," said Ian Taylor, president of the European movement.
