TEHRAN According to people who have recently left the United Arab Emirates, the UAE Deputy Interior Minister, Sheikh Seif bin Zayed, called foreign-born residents "garbage" and said that rescinding the law granting foreign-born residents free medical treatment would drive them out.

The UAE recently rescinded this law as part of a program to deport foreign-born residents. The UAE interior minister has welcomed the action, although 85 percent of the 3,160,000 residents of the country are foreigners.

Moreover, one month ago the UAE government imposed heavy medical tariffs to put more pressure on the foreigners.

According to the new UAE law, medical centers are required to charge $80 for treatment of these patients. Therefore, they must pay about $150 to $200 for treatment of a common cold.
