TEHRAN -- The Kargozaran-e Sazandegi (executives of construction) Party will not offer any special list of ministers for President Mohammad Khatami's next cabinet, acting secretary general of the party Hossein Marashi said here Monday.

Marashi who is also Kerman's representative to the Majlis told IRNA that the decision not to propose any special list was adopted following the meetings of the members of the Central Council of Kargozaran-e Sazandegi Party.

He said the decision was aimed at leaving President Khatami free in choosing his cabinet ministers.

Marashi said the party did not believe in offering a specific list, as it would generate expectations among the people and within the society.

He stressed that in suggesting a specific list the party might acquire further popularity for itself but would create further obligations for the president.

Therefore, he added, the party would relay its consultative views to the president on the issue so that the president would choose his cabinet ministers freely and in the absence of any obligation.

The acting secretary general of Kargozaran-e Sazandegi Party rejected the party's alleged consultations with present ministers as unfounded and said it was not true.
