MASHHAD Khorasan Province's Headquarters for Promoting Good and Discouraging Evil issued a communique on Wednesday expressing strong disapproval of the move of conservative hard liners of disrupting a comic show.

The religious headquarters at the same time reminded the various organizations and officials of the province of the reputation of Mashhad, not only among Iranians but before the entire Islamic world, as a very holy city and to be careful to preserve such status.

Acknowledging the need of provincial residents, including those of Mashhad, for fun and entertainment, the Organization nonetheless reminded the organizers of the presentation not to cross the demarcation line that separates the mundane from the sacred.
