Young Woman Attempts Suicide in Tehran

TEHRAN Around 1:10 p.m. on Monday, a young woman tried to commit suicide by jumping from the Abbasabad-Modaress overpass but survived because an alert driver stopped his car on time.

A large number of people immediately rushed to help the severely injured woman while others called the Tehran Emergency Medical Center.

Bystanders moved the woman to the pavement. People flagged down a passing ambulance, but the paramedics ignored them and did not stop. According to the latest reports, her legs and spinal column are severely damaged.
