KERMANSHAH -- Head of Majlis Education and Research Commission and Representative of Kermanshah Abbas Ali Allahyari said, "global scientific and cultural issues will be discussed at the General Conference of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in France."

Allahyari told IRNA Sunday that a 19-member delegation comprising several scientific and cultural authorities accompanied by the Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mostafa Moin Najafabadi left Iran on Sunday to attend the conference in France.

Allahyari, also expected to leave for France, said that the visiting delegation is due to stay in France along with the scientific and cultural authorities from 190 countries for one week to discuss various educational, cultural and scientific issues.

He added that on the sidelines of the upcoming conference, another meeting will be held to assess the issues related to the youth and young adults, which is of great significance to Iran considering the current young population of the country.

He noted that the most important objective of the conference is to exalt the scientific and cultural level of the participating countries and to lift the existing obstacles in this regard in the world community.

Referring to Iran's chairmanship of the conference, Allahyari said, "attending the upcoming conference will contribute to exalting the scientific and cultural level of the issues related to the education of the Iranian youth and young adults."
