BEIRUT -- A Lebanese official denied Tuesday that Jordan helped Lebanese security agents foil a series of planned attacks on foreign embassies in Beirut, including the U.S., British and Jordanian missions. "We formally deny this information", a security official who preferred not to be named told AFP. A Jordanian official, also speaking on condition of anonymity, told AFP Tuesday that the attacks were ordered by Osbat al-Ansar, a Lebanon-based Palestinian movement named by U.S. President, George W. Bush, as one of the 27 targets in his anti-terrorist war.
