TEHRAN -- On Friday Lebanese Culture Minister Ghassan Salame said that Tehran and Damascus are in favor of Libyan leader Moamar Qadafi participating in the forthcoming Arab Summit meeting in Beirut.
The Lebanese minister told Radio Monte Carlo that some disputes exist between Qadafi and the Shiite Muslims of Lebanon and that Iran and Syria are trying to settle the problems.
The minister added that the Arab Summit will be held March 25-26.
He said that Lebanese President Emile Lahoud will dispatch envoys to invite Arab leaders to participate in the summit.
On Friday the Lebanese Shiite group Amal accused Qadafi of kidnapping Imam Musa Sadr, the former leader of the Shiite Muslims in Lebanon and announced that it is opposed to Qadafi's participation in the meeting.
Amal has asked the Lebanese government not to forget Qadafi's past acts.
