Iran, Turkey to Sign Communications Treaty

TEHRAN - The director of Turkey's Radio and Television department has said that Iran and Turkey will sign a cooperative mass communications treaty in the near future.
According to reports, the Turkish official, currently in Iran heading a delegation, met and conferred with the deputy of international affairs at the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) company. He said that introducing the two nations' cultures to each other is the main aim of the agreement.
Meanwhile, the IRIB official, Honar Doust, referred to the cultural, political and economic relations between Iran and Turkey and said that media relations between the two countries are currently satisfactory but would develop further as a result of the Turkish delegation's trip.
He added that the treaty will include the exchange of programs, news, equipment, joint productions, and technological capabilities.
