Anwari here on Sunday stressed the need for expansion of Iran-Afghanistan relations.

He told IRNA that the two neighboring countries enjoy strong and cordial ties, calling on Iran to participate in Afghanistan's reconstruction especially in the agricultural field.

Anwari said that since Afghanistan's climatic conditions are similar to that of Iran, Afghanistan can make use of Iranian agricultural expertise for development of its agriculture sector.

Some 80 percent of the Afghan people are engaged in farming and animal husbandry, according to figures published by Afghan Ministry of Agriculture.
