TEHRAN -- Iran's First Exclusive Trade Fair in the Saudi city of Dhahran which was held from March 9-15 has been warmly welcomed by the citizens of Sharqieh district.

The executive manager of the fair Hassan Olfat told IRNA the fair is visited so often that the individuals in charge of the pavilions hardly manage to respond to the visitors' questions.

He added that Iranian companies attending the fair have so far signed several agreements with their Saudi counterparts some of which cover their entire production volume.

He said, "an agreement was signed by Oroumiyeh Cement Plant to sell its entire production in monthly installments of 10,000 tons at a total amount of $5 million."

He also referred to similar agreements signed by other producers including Pars Aluminum, Kavir Tyre, Rositan Polyester and Khavar Khabar.

He recalled that considering that Saudi Arabia is up to establish a railway network throughout the country to interconnect the Saudi cities, the members of Iran's railway engineering company attending the fair conferred with the relevant Saudi authorities to discuss mutual cooperation.

The ongoing fair is open to the Saudi tradesmen in the morning and to the public in the afternoon.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has earlier held three exclusive fairs in Jeddah, while the present fair in the sharqieh district in Dhahran is the fourth one.
