LONDON -- A friend of a British student feared killed by a crocodile in Kenya gave a graphic account in Tuesday's newspapers here of the moment the teenage girl was seized and dragged underwater.

"It's got my feet, it's a crocodile," Amy Nicholls screamed to her friends paddling in lake Chala, close to the border with Tanzania.

Elspeth Harley was standing waist-deep in the water nearby when she saw Nicholls dragged under. Seconds later, Nicholls resurfaced screaming before being dragged down a second time.

Her body was recovered Monday, minus an arm. She was formally identified by her father, who flew out to Nairobi as soon as he learned of the incident Friday.
