LISBON -- A Portugal woman found part of a rat leg in a hamburger bought at a hospital cafeteria, the Lusa news agency reported. The woman, an employee of the state hospital in the central town of Leiria, filed a complaint with local health authorities in February after finding what appeared to be a rat leg and several hairs in the meat of the hamburger she had begun to eat. Tests at the National Health Institute confirmed the woman's suspicions and the local prosecutor's office is now investigating the case, Lusa said. The manager of the hospital cafeteria told weekly ***Noticias de Leiria ***the hamburgers were prepared at a Leiria butcher shop and not in the cafeteria, AFP reported.
