TEHRAN - Admiral Massoud Sarikhani, a deputy commander of the navy, said on Wednesday that the Moje destroyer, which has been built in Iran, will soon join the Navy's fleet.
Admiral Sarikhani added that the destroyer has the ability to perform surface, subsurface and air defense operations.
He emphasized the fact that before the revolution Navy personnel were trained outside the country while they are currently being trained at the Imam Khomeini Naval University.
Pointing out that the Iranian Navy uses the most sophisticated radar equipment, Admiral Sarikhani added that Navy personnel are using their high level of technical knowledge to satisfactorily maintain the equipment.
He stated that some transregional forces are present in the southern waters of the Persian Gulf, but the situation is under control and the Navy is ready to respond to any threat.
