BERLIN Iranian consortium Iran Khodro and German-American automaker daimlerchrsyler signed an agreement Monday to jointly manufacture trucks with a capacity of between 8 and 40 tons.

The three-year deal followed a visit by Iranian Minister of Industries and Mines Es'haq Jahangiri to Daimlerchrysler's Headquarters in the south German city of Stuttgart.

Company officials did not release any figures on the contract.

The agreement will enable Iran Khodro to utilize also Daimlerchrysler's global products distribution system to sell Iran Khodro products and services.

Daimlerchrysler and Iran Khodro are already jointly manufacturing gear boxes, vehicle axles and steering wheels.
