Iran Snatches Asia-Pacific Taekwondo Runner-Up Title

TEHRAN Iran stood second at the 15th Asia-Pacific Taekwondo Championships ended Sunday in the Jordanian capital city, Amman.
During the three-day event, 164 taekwondo players of 27 countries clashed and South Korea won the crown as it bagged six golds and one bronze of the 8 weights.
Iran collected one gold, two silvers and three bronzes and the host country, Jordan, ranked third with one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
In the fifth weight final, world champion Hadi Saei of Iran due to misjudgment lost to his South Korean opponent 7-6 and bagged the silver.
Saei, who was announced Technical Taekwondo Player of Asia-Pacific, refused to stand on the podium, showing his complaint.
