SEVILLE, Spain -- European Economic Affairs Commissioner Pedro Solbes said Sunday that he was concerned about the volatility in the euro-dollar exchange rate, warning that it could affect economic stability, told AFP.

"We have always said that it is logical that the euro would appreciate but we continue to be concerned about these rapid changes in the exchange rate, whether up or down, because that affects economic stability," he told Spanish news agency Europa Press.
