TEHRAN -- Customs revenues in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (stared March 21) reached Rls.2,482.3 billion, showing a 38.4-percent increase compared to the figure for the same period last year, IRNA reported.

In the first three months of the year, revenues obtained from commercial profits accounted for 64.6 percent of total customs revenues.

Public Relations Department of Iran's Customs Administration announced that the revenue gained from commercial profits totaled Rls.1,604.2 billion, showing a 45-percent rise compared to the figure for the previous year.

Based on the report, the revenue from customs duties stood at more than Rls.368.2 billion, constituting 14.8 percent of total customs revenues. It showed a rise of 94.7 percent compared to the figure for the same period last year.

In the first three months of this year, Bandar Abbas Customs Office with Rls.1,053.3 billion in revenues reserved the highest share of the total customs revenues. Bandar Imam Khomeini and Mehrabad Customs Office followed with Rls.302.5 billion and Rls.220.1 billion respectively.

Bandar Abbas, Bandar Imam Khomeini and Mehrabad Customs offices quarterly revenues showed 48.8, 68.2 and 10.7 percent growth respectively compared to the figures for the corresponding period last year.
