The Proposal for Removing Limitations on Steel Import Handed Over to Commerce Ministry

TEHRAN -- Deputy in charge of Production in Mines and Industries Ministry announced that his ministry has rendered the proposal for removing the limitations imposed on steel import to the Commerce Ministry, to be enacted during the current year.

Ahmad Doust Hosseini, said on Sunday that the Ministry of Mines and Industries also intends to take measures to reduce the amount of tariffs imposed on the importing steel.

He said steel's world market in the second half of the last year faced some tensions, and all the countries take measures to protect their steel-manufacturing units. In this regard Iran levied taxes on steel import.

Referring to the plan for renovation of industries, he said that the plan has been devised in order to increase capital return and rising competitiveness of the manufacturing units.

He added that capital return in Iran's industry sector, has a large gap in compare with developed countries.
