TEHRAN -- An Uzbek translation of "Sound of Rippling Waters," a collection of poems of the Iranian contemporary poet Sohrab Sepehri, was adjudged one of the world's best literary translations in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The collection as well as some other works of the poet was recently translated by an Uzbek translator, Nargess Shah Aliava, into Uzbek and published in Tashkent.

*****Art and Literature****, a weekly published by the Uzbekistan Ministry of Culture and the Uzbek Authors Union, praised the Uzbek translation of "Sound of Rippling Waters" as the best of its kind in its latest edition.

Shah Aliava's style of translation in Sepehri's collection of poems is new and artistic. The collection has been published along with his autobiography in a book entitled "Secret of Red Rose'.
