TEHRAN – Foreign investment in Mobarakeh Steel Complex (MSC) may turn this mill into a steel giant, executive director of the company Mahmud Eslamian said here Sunday.

Referring to the recent reports in mass media on the purchase of MSC by the Mittal of India, Eslamian stated he was unaware of such a bid.

“As an employee of the government, I do not make any decision in this regard and it is up to the Industries and Mines Ministry and its affiliated organizations to strike a deal in this case if any,” he stipulated.

Responding to a question whether he, as the director of MSC, would welcome a business of this nature, he maintained that attraction of foreign investment is a positive step towards the growth of the industry and he favors that.
