Molavi, Shining Star of Iranian Firmament
He was born in Balkh, eastern Iran in 604 A.H.
His father Bahaeddin Mohammad was one of the prominent figures of his own time. When Jalaleddin was five, his family traveled to Khorasan to visit Sheikh Farideddin Attar, the renowned Iranian poet.
He predicted a bright future for the son and gifted his book "Asrar-Nameh" (Letter of Secrets) to the five-year-old Jalaleddin.
Molavi's father passed away when he was 28.
He worked with his father's friend Seyed Borhaneddin Sarmadi for a while and later got familiar with Shams Tabrizi who had a great impact on his life.
The thoughts, ideas and simple and smooth way of expressing words, as well as paying much attention to human morals in Molavi's poems, have introduced him to the world as one of the most prominent literary figures.
"Mathnavi Ma'navi", his most popular book, includes a collection of his morale and mysticism beliefs followed by proverbs and holy verses.
Molavi's works have been translated into several languages of the world.
