TEHRAN -- Minister of Post, Telegraph, and Telephone (PTT) Ahmad Mo'tamedi announced here yesterday that some two million analogue telephone numbers will be converted into digital numbers by the end of the Third Five-Year Development Plan.

He added that nearly 11.4 million telephone subscribers and 2.17 million cell phone subscribers are now being provided with services.

Mo'tamedi added that the PTT Ministry has expanded its projects within the framework of the Third Five-Year Development Plan in order to raise the standards of Iran's telephones, cell phones, Internet services, and infrastructure networks up to the international level. Therefore, it plans to make state-of-the-art services available at provincial telecommunications centers, he stated.
