UN Office to Screen Iranian Films
The winners of several national and international prizes in different festivals are to be screened on the occasion of Iranian Cinema Week in the presence of Iranian directors and producers.
****The Longest Night,*** ****The Son of Mary,**** ****Friday,**** and ****Tomorrow**** are the films which will reveal different aspects of Iranian cinema to its spectators.
****The Son of Mary**** written and produced by Fereshteh Taerpour, depicts two different religions of Islam and Christianity -- teaching that there is only one God -- and the good relationship of the Muslims and the Christians.
The film has so far grabbed several prizes in the festivals of Iran, Egypt, Japan, India, the United States, Canada, France, and Italy.
Kioumars Pour-Ahmad, director and screenplay writer of the film ****The Longest Night**** also reflects the interaction of two different cultures. The film has won the prize of the best actor and best director in Iran.
The Golden Camera of Cannes Film Festival was awarded to ****Friday*** by Ahmad Moussazadeh.
****Tomorrow*** is directed and produced by Masoud Ja'fari-Jouzani.
Iranian filmmakers are scheduled to attend several meetings.
