TEHRAN -- Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Siba Das said here on Sunday that the UNDP would spare no efforts to help Iran in its drive to increase non-oil exports given its undeniable role in the country's economic progress.

Addressing the first seminar of the achievements of national project for sustainable development of non-oil exports (SINAX), Das complained about inconsistencies in export regulations in Iran and blamed unnecessary regulations for sluggish growth in Iran's non-oil exports.

Das said the UNDP had over the past four years granted about $ 800,000 to Iran to help implement the nationwide SINAX project.

He said the project was aimed at helping the country gain access to reliable data and information, ease bureaucratic maize and expand non-oil commodity exports, IRNA reported.

Das added that more than 800 educational workshop are active in different parts of Iran in the field, rendering satisfactory services.

The UNDP official expressed optimism over positive effects of the project and said Iran has been able to overcome many barriers in export and production.
