TEHRAN -- Qasr-e Bahram, located in the Kavir National Park, is an old caravansary which is to be turned into a tourist resort.

The extensive restoration process of the palace is still underway. This rare caravansary has 20 chambers and two entrance doors, one facing the south and the other north. It belongs to the Safavid period and is located 152km east of Tehran.

The palace was constructed on direct order from Shah Abbas Safavi (1557-1629). A water canal, able to supply water to the building from 7 kilometers away, is considered to be one of its outstanding characteristics.
