TEHRAN -- A large circulation Italian daily, La Stampa, considers Iranian women's presence in different political, social, and scientific arenas as "eye-catching", adding that, by comparison, "the number of Iranian female MPs in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Majlis, is more than the number of Turkish women MPs in the Turkish Parliament."

The eleven-page special report -- accompanied with a number of pictures showing Iranian women's presence in different social arenas -- states that women have an eye-catching presence in theological schools, the Majlis, universities, and the media; and says Iranian women try hard to further promote their sociopolitical status.
