TEHRAN -- Attended by several Chinese researchers and thinkers, 3rd seminar of "Iranology in China" opened on November 13 in Beijing University, China.

Cosponsored by Persian Department of Beijing University and Iranian cultural attaché to China, the two-day seminar aims to introduce latest achievements of Chinese Iranologists and develop Iranology in China.

In the opening ceremony, the deputy head of the university said that Iran and China enjoy ancient history and civilization, adding that the works and cultural heritage of Iran prove the endurance and talent of Iranians.

Wu Jan Pan added that people of Iran and China have long had close friendly relationship leading to the idea of Iranology in China.

"Holding such seminars will certainly help to expand cultural cooperation between the two countries, and sure the efforts of Chinese Iranologists will be of great help," he concluded.
