TEHRAN -- Dental clinics will be checked by the Health Ministry every three months to examine proper disinfection of their instruments, said Dr.

Hamid Samadzadeh, Head of the Tooth and Mouth Department of the Health Ministry.

"Using autoclave is obligatory in dental clinics to reduce the danger of spread of contagious diseases and transfusion of AIDS/HIV and hepatitis viruses".

"Using autoclave has been obligatory since 1999 which was announced by the ministry. It is used for sterilizing instruments by means of steam and high pressure.

"Autoclave is the safest instruments for sterilization," he concluded.
