MANCHESTER, England -- Argentine midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron and Welsh winger Ryan Giggs are doubtful for Manchester United's English FA Cup fifth round clash with Arsenal at Old Trafford today.

Veron returned from Argentina's friendly on Wednesday with a toe injury, while Giggs has a calf problem. The absence of either would be a blow to Ferguson, who was unhappy with the circumstances surrounding Veron's injury.

"We've got some doubts. Ryan Giggs is a doubt and Juan Veron is a doubt," Ferguson told the club's official website on Friday. "(Veron) played the full game for Argentina which was a problem for me, plus he got a toe injury. All the rest of the players have come back OK."

Veron in fact played 74 minutes of Argentina's 1-0 defeat by the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Wednesday.

Ferguson had expected members of the United squad on international duty this week to play only 45 minutes, Reuters said.

Giggs missed Wales's 2-2 draw against Bosnia due to his calf problem.
