TEHRAN -- The Export Development Bank of Iran (EDBI) will offer facilities to export goods for expansion of non-oil export and infrastructural reforms in production of such goods in the country.

Managing Director of EDBI Norouz Kohzadi said here on Sunday that the bank will offer foreign exchange facilities to Iranian importers of investment goods and related services from different world countries including India.

He stressed that the EDBI bank will use exchange facilities of those foreign banks, which would lead to the expansion of non-oil export, IRNA said.

Kohzadi said that a number of foreign banks offered exchange facilities to Iran regarding suitable forex situation, single rate in the country and reduction of risk in Iran since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2002).

Touching upon future plans of the bank, he said that activation of credit lines and promotion of issuance of technical and engineering services are top at the agenda of the EDBI bank.

The Export Development Bank of Iran (EDBI) was established on July 10, 1991 with a paid-up capital of 50 billion rials. Its objective is to open outlets for expansion of the country's non-oil exports as well as economic and commercial interchanges with other countries.
