TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency)- The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) condemns any disruption of legal gatherings, said IRGC spokesman Brigadier Mas’ud Jazayeri.

Jazayeri said the IRGC condemns such behavior and considers it as illogical.

Those who care about the development of the country should not waste their time and energy on such things, the IRGC official said.

Recently a group of fanatics attacked a gathering of people who were being addressed by MP Mohsen Mirdamadi in the city of Yazd in southern Iran.

The commander of the Basij Resistance Force Brigadier General Sayed Mohammad Hejazi also said Basij considers disruption of legal gatherings as an illogical behavior and condemns it.

As a member to the country's security apparatus Basij has always announced its position toward such issues, Hajazi noted.

In such a sensitive situation that the country is facing the upcoming Majlis elections everybody should try to keep peace and stability in the country, Hejazi told the Mehr News Agency.

The lecturers at such gathering should avoid making provocative speeches, the Basij official also noted.

The participants in such gatherings should make logical debates in a very calm atmosphere and seriously avoid any physical confrontation because such behaviors will be misused by foreigners and the enemies of the Islamic system, he noted.

Any confrontation may lead to more misunderstandings among different groups of the society and this is not to the benefit of the system.

The commander of the Basij Resistance Force also said that a peaceful atmosphere will boost the voter turnout in the upcoming elections and any antagonism will prove the opposite.

Some of these illogical actions are usually performed by some fanatics who have a wrong analysis of the issues and the realities of the Iranian society, he argued.

He said these individuals are misused by opportunists.
