TEHRAN (PIN) – Managing director of Bistun Petrochemical Company noted that linear alkyl benzene product of the company enjoys a purity degree higher than international standards.

Hossein Aqaii noted that all linear alkyl benzene product of the company was sold at international markets during the current year, which indicates satisfaction of customers with products of Bistun Petrochemical Company. He noted that if the current production trend continued, production capacity of the company will reach 110 percent of its nominal capacity.

Linear alkyl benzene is the raw material for detergents and is used for producing household and industrial detergent. Bistun Petrochemical Company, which started production in June, yields about 50,000 tons of the petrochemical per year.

The official stated that heavy alkylate is another product of the company which is produced at annual quantity of 7,000 tons and is additive for industrial lubricators. Linear alkyl benzene project of Bistun Petrochemical Company started in February 2000 and was officially inaugurated in February 2005. The plant uses 386,000 tons kerosene and 19,000 tons benzene per year as feedstock. Kerosene is supplied by Kermanshah Petrochemical Complex while benzene is supplied by Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex and Isfahan Petrochemical Complex.
