Kerala festival hosting Iranian cinema reps

TEHRAN -- Nine entries are representing Iranian cinema at the 11th International Film Festival of Kerala that opened in India on Dec. 8.

“Full or Empty” directed by Abolfazl Jalili, “Chaharshanbeh-Suri” by Asghar Farhadi, “The Gaze” by Sepideh Farsi, “The Cow” by Dariush Mehrjuii, “Water, Wind and Dust” and “The Runner” by Amir Naderi, “The Bread and Alley” by Abbas Kiarostami, “Prince Ehtejab” by Bahman Farmanara, and “Still Life” by Sohrab Shahid-Sales are screened at the Early Iranian Cinema Section.

The International Film Festival of Kerala is a yearly event organized by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on behalf of the Department of Cultural Affairs, government of Kerala.

This edition includes Indian Cinema Today, Malayalam Cinema Now, Arabian Documentaries and Short Fiction, Videovision Cinemas of South Africa, World Cinema, and Competition sections and runs until Dec. 15.
