TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Talks between Iranian and Russian officials about completion of the delayed project on Bushehr nuclear power plant in southern Iran ""is going ahead on a good track,"" government Spokesman, Gholam-Hossein Elham said on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters at his weekly press conference, he said, ""talks were underway for the completion of the project"" which was due to be finished in September 2007.
Construction operation for the project was halted earlier this year over claims made by the Russian side that Iran was not paying its bills for the project.
""There are some problems which should be removed through negotiations,"" Elham stressed.
Commenting on the gasoline rationing plan which has been implemented by government nationwide since late June, the spokesman said, ""Government is serious about its decision on gasoline rationing and will continue it as scheduled.""
Referring to the issue of criticizing government performance, Elham said that government of President Mahmud Ahmadinejad ""will accept any logical and reasonable criticism.
""Critics should provide accurate and documented information in their criticisms,"" Elham said.
------- Assembly of Experts should stay away from political disputes
Elham said that the Assembly of Experts has a major status in the Islamic system of government in Iran and should stay away from political disputes.
Asked by reporters about government's position on latest changes in the influential assembly, he said, ""The government has no stance on the changes in the presiding board of the Assembly of Experts.""
On September 4, the 86-seat body elected chairman of the Expediency Council, Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, as its new head.
Rafsanjani, 73, replaced the assembly's former chairman, the late Ayatollah Ali Meshkini who passed away on July 30 at the age of 86.
The Assembly of Experts is an influential body in charge of appointing the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and monitoring his performance.
Stressing the significant role played by the assembly and its major status in the society, Elham said, ""The issue of the Assembly of Experts should not be linked to the issue of the government.
""The assembly has a very sensitive and spiritual status which influences the society,"" he stressed.
He recalled the statements made by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei who recommended members of the Assembly of Experts in a meeting days after the assembly's election, to act in a way that would protect the body's prestige and credit.
""The Supreme Leader stressed that the assembly should not be dragged into any political, factional and media disputes,"" Elham said.
Ayatollah Khamenei lashed out at foreign media propaganda against the assembly saying that they were trying to portray the Assembly of Experts as a body engaged in factional disputes and power struggle.
""They (foreign media) launched false propaganda campaign and tried to magnify certain natural differences so as to downgrade the Assembly in the mind of the public,"" Ayatollah Khamenei said.
He urged all members of the Assembly of Experts, including its distinguished presiding board, to ""...be watchful of their words and deeds and vigilantly foil the enemies' hostile propaganda.""
-------------Candidates for vacant portfolios to be introduced to Majlis
Elham said that candidates for the vacant portfolios of the oil minister and minister of industries and mines will be introduced to the parliament within the period specified by law.
He told reporters that the parliament is on its summer vacation and candidates for the two vacant posts will be introduced in due time.
Asked about Iran's reaction to possible Israeli air raid on Syria, Elham said that according to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), any aggression on an Islamic state account for aggression on the entire Islamic nations
