Tehran -- Iran’s 13th International Oil, Gas, and Petrochemicals Exhibition (Iran Oil Show) open today at Tehran Permanent International Fairground. The 5-day event will last to 20th of April 2008. Some 500 foreign and 860 domestic companies have participated in the prestigious event.

Relations between Iran and Norway in the energy sector are satisfactory and the Norwegian oil giant StatoilHydro is currently active in some oil-related projects in Iran, the Norwegian ambassador to Tehran stated.
Roald Næss added Iran oil show is a welcome opportunity for Norwegian investors to be more active in Iran’s oil sector.
Iran, with reserves of more than 130 billion barrels of oil and condensates (13% of the world's supplies) and in excess of 26 trillion cubic meters of natural gas (18% of the world's supplies), ranks second among the oil and gas producing nations in the world.
Norway, a northern European country, enjoys rich oil deposits and ranks the third among world’s oil producers.
-----------Offering consultation to the downstream oil industries investors
Identifying entities interested investment in the downstream oil industries and providing them with consultation services are among the programs of the Downstream Oil Industries Development Department, SHANA quoted the director of the department as saying.
“We have participated in the 13th International Oil, Gas, and Petrochemicals Exhibition mainly to broaden our relations with those industrialists active in this field and to become more familiar with their problems,” Reza Mohtashamipour added.
The Downstream Oil Industries Development Department is the first subsidiary of the National Iranian Petrochemical Company which has been established in order to shore up the development of the oil-related industries, he explained.
-----------Free-of-charge space for oil-related publications
For the first time in the history of the oil show, officials have allocated an area free-of-charge to the publications active in the oil sector, SHANA reported.
The publications stand is in the hall No. 35 adjacent to the news headquarters of the event.
